the family i dueld repeatedly decided to bring me back
not because i had enough gold to pay the fee, but because...they felt i earned it.
i was using a rusty 2 foot long chunk of iron with no handle
my opponent ...when they found someone good, was using a 3 foot piece again rusted till the handle fell off,
both blades were imbued with power words to enhance abilities
